The lived experiences and role implications of Michigan Clinical Nurse Specialists during the COVID-19 pandemic: A mixed methods analysis.

Dear Members of the Michigan Association of Clinical Nurse Specialists,

We are still seeking participants for a research study:

The lived experiences and role implications of Michigan Clinical Nurse Specialists during the COVID-19 pandemic: A mixed methods analysis.

Description of the Project: An online survey asking about you, your background, your relationships with others around you, your feelings and emotions, your experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic, health and social behaviors, your general health, and your job expectations. Your participation in the first part of the study, the online survey will take less than 15 min. And then if you choose to take part in the telephone or Zoom interview portion of the study that will take you approximately 30-45 minutes.

This study also aims to identify the factors that have been most influential on role changes and potential barriers to necessary role changes as perceived by the CNSs. Additionally, this study aims to explore the lived experiences related to the personal and professional impact that COVID-19 has had on frontline CNSs in Michigan. 

There will be a raffle of 2 gift cards valued at $25 each. Each participant who completes the survey will have one chance to win a gift card. We will divide all participants into two equal groups and each group will have one chance of receiving a gift card. At the end of the study you will be notified by email the date and time of the raffle. Additionally, all participants who participate in the interview will receive a gift card valued at $20.

To Participate:

• 18 years of age or older
  2) Live and work in Michigan as a CNS before and during the COVID-19 pandemic
  3) Can read and understand English.
