House Bill 4359, the Access to Safe Anesthesia Act. The law would end the state’s burdensome “physician supervision” of certified registered nurse anesthetists (CRNA) mandate and improve access to safe anesthesia to patients across Michigan. The bill was supported by a large bipartisan group of state representatives and is backed by the Michigan Health & Hospital Association, the Michigan Association of Health Plans, the Michigan Nurses Association, the Michigan Association of Nurse Anesthetists and others.
