Taylor Long - Candidate for President Elect: Taylor Long has 15 years of experience in nursing, with nine years as a Geriatric Clinical Nurse Specialist. She was the first credentialed and privileged CNS at Henry Ford Health System and passionately advocates for full scope of practice for the CNS role at the state and national levels. Her education and practice with the geriatric population has given her the knowledge and experience to promote quality outcomes for health care employees and the communities as our population continues to age. Taylor's specific expertise lies in fall prevention, dementia, and delirium management. She completed her Doctorate of Nursing Practice degree in 2019, and has initiated other research, mentored other students and colleagues with research and DNP projects, and presented at local and national conferences. She has been an active Director at Large for MI-CNS for 5 years, leading public relations/social media and continuing education.
Katie Potter - Candidate for Director at Large:
I am seeking re-election to the MICNS Board as a Director at Large because I remain committed to elevating the role, voice, and impact of Clinical Nurse Specialists across Michigan. During my current term, I have seen firsthand how essential our collective advocacy, professional development, and collaboration are to advancing CNS practice and improving outcomes for the patients and communities we serve. Serving on the Board has strengthened my passion for legislative advocacy and CNS role clarity. I hope to continue to contribute to initiatives that promote CNS visibility, expand our statewide network, and empower our members through education, mentorship, and professional development. I look forward to continuing to work alongside such a dedicated and inspiring group of CNS leaders.
