MICNS CNS Program Director Panel Discussion
Posted about 13 hours ago by Joshua Winowiecki
Thank you to those who were able to join our engaging panel discussion today featuring program directors from across Michigan to discuss the trajectory and professional impact of the Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS). This session provided practicing nurses and students with a roadmap for navigating APRN education and practice, emphasizing the CNS’s unique focus on systems-level leadership through the three spheres of influence: the patient, the nurse/nursing practice, and the organization/system.
Our thanks to Dr. Jackeline Iseler (GVSU), Dr. Mitzi Saunders (UDM), and Dr. Mariah Foster (MSU) for sharing their expertise on the distinctions between CNS and NP roles, the choice between MSN, DNP, and PhD pathways, and the role of APRNs in driving evidence-based practice and quality improvement.
The full recording of today's session is now available for those who missed the live event or wish to review the discussion on advancing nursing excellence in Michigan.
